Emergencies Tsunami Relief
Activities
OAZOANE extensively involved in Tsunami Relief Operational Activities in Pudukottai and Nagapattinam districts particularly Serthur Village near Velanganni. All staffs of the organization involved in this operation without hesitation. As first steps, Oazoane's staffs mobilized rise, Cloths, Vegetables, Shops, paste, pot, biscuits and other food materials required for the Tsunami affected people of Nagapattinam district. 4 lorries of full materials were collected and distributed with the help of district administration. Our Self Help Groups Members were kind enough to support in this and they themselves were involved in mobilizing materials for the people affected with Tsunami. More over, OAZOANE was extended immediate support in all the ways and means for the district administration on their immediate request.

Flood Relief Activities
During the heavy flood, OAZOANE has initiated various steps to rehabilitate to the affected people who are living in Manalmelkudi Block and Avudayar koil block. Food and cloths were distributed to all those who are affected with heavy flood. The children are taken care and all medical facilities were extended. Milk was distributed for the needy people and children in the project areas.

Temporary Anganwadi Centers.
As part of temporary relief activities, 29Aganwardi centers have been started in the coastal areas of Manalmelkudi, Avudayar Koil with the financial support of UNICEF. There is 1160 Tsunami affected fishermen children were enrolled in the 29 anganwadi centers. As part of this regular activities, the mothers also given regular counseling in core issues of pre natal, natal and post natal counseling, for the pregnant women, and hygiene for adolescent girls. in spite of these live saving activities, the women and children have improved their health status. |

Bridge course for drop
out children
OAZOANE is implementing the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan supported by District Administration. Under this educational initiatives, 281dropout Children were enrolled in Aranthangi Block under 12 Centers. Similarly, 242 dropout Children were enrolled in Karambakudi Block under 8 Centers. Now, thanks to these efforts, the entire dropout Children in the project areas are undergoing education, which they missed earlier by various reasons earlier. They have provided with adequate teaching and learning materials, school bags, Slippers, and Medicines. In addition to this, Dress materials were also distributed on its own resources, so that they have to complete their education without any difficulties. These children would be enrolled in the regular system after successful completion of this education.

Residential School for Dropout
children
Two Residential Schools have been started in Karambakudi Block and Aranthangi and 140 children enrolled. These children are provided with education, food, and cloths for their physical and mental development. After successful completion of this education, they would be enrolled in the regular system based on the age and educational requirements. As part of these activities, a procession was organized to sensitize the public for send their children to school and not to child labor . |
